Professional Hopes and Goals

When working with families of different cultures I hope that they all would be interested in learning about each culture. I think it would be neat if we could celebrate each culture. That is why I hope that all families would be interested in other cultures. It would be a great learning experience for their children. One goal that I would like for the early childhood field is for all of us to take a stand. If we all work together we could make diversity, equity and social justice not an issue anymore.

I want to now take this time to thank off my colleagues for the support they have given me through out this course. I enjoyed reading of your ideas and will take them in to my classroom and in my profession. I look forward to seeing you guys in my other courses.

  1. Hi Cheryl,

It has been an honor working with you through your journey for your Master's. I have enjoyed getting to know you through the various assignments and learning your thoughts, views, and understanding of each topic. You have given me insights and a simple understanding of bringing diversity topics into my program to have an open discussion about how we can make a difference in our program and to the world. I hope a diversity, equity, and social justices will be accepted and treated with respect. We each bring ideas, suggestions, and a vision of the early childhood field, including young children and their families and hopefully through collaboration and the passion for making a difference; things will change.

  2. Hi Cheryl,

Working with children and families of different cultures can bring many challenges but will provide many opportunities to educators. When teachers have the knowledge and practice effective teaching, they can create a classroom that will meet the needs of all children. I look forward to seeing you again in the remaining courses.

  3. Hi Cheryl,

Thank you for all your input this term. It is such a wonderful learning experience when we facilitate the sharing of cultures in the classroom. I think that if the teacher organizes and leads with a positive attitude of acceptance the children will follow. Thank you for sharing your hopes and goals. -Mary

  5. Cheryl,

I would hope our cultures could all celebrate each other. I think as teachers it is our responsibility to start the cycle. I wish you luck on your journey to achieving those goals.
